Recruitment firm, gap personnel, showed its commitment to employees and local businesses during the pandemic supporting pubs and restaurants by paying for staff lunches for two weeks before the first lockdown and holding monthly events to keep its team engaged and boost spirits.

In addition to virtual cooking and cocktail making classes, pub quizzes and movie nights, gap personnel, had a Friday Night Takeaway where all employees got a dinner delivered on the house and were entered into a free raffle to win prizes including TVs and hampers.

From humble beginnings in 1997 as an independently owned, local industrial staffing agency in North Wales, gap personnel has become a national recruitment business with offices across England and Wales and has expanded to cover technical and professional sectors. It was acquired in 2017 by BeNEXT Group Inc, a global human resources and staffing provider with revenues of more than £500m.

The Wrexham-based-firm's vision is to become the first-choice recruitment partner by developing a brand that customers, candidates, and employees are proud to be associated and its ethos is underpinned by its core values of being consultative, accountable, real and ethical.

The company offers accredited training and staff development and a variety of flexible working options from amended working hours to base locations and the chance to make a difference.

Throughout the pandemic employees have taken part in charity events such as 5K runs, fancy dress competitions and fundraisers raising more than £10,000 for good causes, including Save the Children and the NHS.

Quote from the top...
“We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded 3 star status. Our people are everything, and the business recognises that their exceptional contribution is what makes the gap Personnel brand stand out. Our Leadership team have really taken time to understand individual learning requirements, and to recognise that a ‘one size fits all’ learning culture simply doesn’t bring out the best in everyone. Employee wellbeing has been central for us and creating an environment where people feel comfortable to discuss matters openly, with the right mechanisms for support is incredibly important to us. We will look at these 3 stars every day with pride, and recognise that they represent the individual contribution that each and every person makes to this business on a daily basis, and will continue to strive to ensure we support our people’ development and wellbeing even more in the year ahead.”

Mark Roberts, Managing Director - gap personnel
