STAFF AT THE Government Actuary's Department don't need complicated formulas to see it is a great organisation to work for. The 138 staff, who provide actuarial consultancy services and advice to governments and public sector organisations in the UK and abroad on their pension arrangements, are among the least stressed and exhausted. Scores of 79% and 63% rank it seventh and third respectively among small organisations. Staff are happy with the balance between work and home life (79%, fourth) and feel paid fairly for their responsibilities (65%).
