Staff at GreenCare Environmental will be cleaning up at the end of this year when they reap the benefits of a long-term bonus scheme introduced in 2004. Based on length of service, employees at the hygiene services company could receive up to 90% of their salary as a bonus. On top of this, staff say their manager regularly expresses their appreciation when they do a good job, giving this an 82% positive score. GreenCare was founded 10 years ago by husband and wife Adam and Carole Warren, both former employees at Rentokil, with £60,000 of their own money. Staff are evidently impressed with Adam Warren's leadership skills, they feel he is doing a great job (81%). Based in Worcester, the company has sites in Warrington, Kent, Essex and Winchester, and serves 10,000 customers. Last year saw many new recruits and the management team already consists of home-grown talent. So proud is GreenCare of its work that it shows all new starters a video of company highlights from the previous year. Job security is a strength, earning a positive score of 82% in our survey. Since 2002, staff have entered dragon boat racing to raise £25,000 for a children's hospice in Kent. A score of 81% shows that staff believe in the company values.
