The wellbeing of employees is at the heart of everything IC24 does, with the company rolling out a brand-new wellbeing strategy and three-year plan in 2021.
IC24 believes that everyone should feel able to thrive at work and encourages all colleagues to take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing. Dedicated wellbeing groups were set up to provide employees with helpful resources, whilst a mental health programme was introduced to support those who may be struggling. A ‘Trauma Risk Management’ service was also brought into its contact centres, supporting employees after difficult calls.
The organisation has been at the forefront of urgent care since the early 1990s, growing from a small group of GP cooperatives to a social enterprise organisation serving over six million people. As a not-for-profit organisation, any surplus that it makes is reinvested straight back into its people and patients, rather than being distributed to shareholders - meaning they're part of the NHS family, enhancing it through the added social value they bring.
Ensuring Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) for all, the charity appointed a Diversity and Inclusion business partner to produce a number of resource groups for colleagues to focus on intersectionality and create allies throughout the business.
