The company has become a sponsor of the ‘Tech Talent Charter’, a non-profit organisation leading a movement to address inequality in the UK tech sector and drive inclusion and diversity.
Its involvement is helping the firm outline its own approach to equality, diversity, and inclusivity (EDI), and earlier this year it attended an ‘Inclusion in Tech Festival’ to help achieve its goals.
IQE’s core business is the design and manufacture of compound semiconductor wafers, or epiwafers, using a process called ‘epitaxy’. These products enable much of today’s technology to work, including mobile phone handsets, 5G infrastructure, facial recognition systems, and multicolour uLED displays.
