This partnership of specialist attorneys, based in central London but with business worldwide, stamped its mark on the Best Companies list at No 16 last year and has maintained its rank. It was founded in 1988 by David Keltie and Rosemary Cardas and, 21 years later, Keltie is still a partner while the firm is led by Sean Cummings, an early recruit. The 69 employees say profit is not the only driving force (83%). They feel they can make a difference in the firm (87%) and are excited about where it is going (87%)—both top 20 scores. Staff find Cummings inspiring (89%) and believe he runs the company on sound principles and strong values (both 88%). Senior managers listen rather than just laying down the law (84%). Employees get to know one another with the help of a £57,000 social fund. Staff have a strong sense of family in their teams (86%), care for colleagues (91%) and feel the experience they gain is valuable for their future (88%), with support for gaining qualifications from a £30,000 training budget. They also feel their health doesn't suffer because of work (89%), love their jobs (88%) and are proud to work for Keltie (91%).
