FOLLOWING THE PHILOSOPHY that everyone is entitled to have friends, relationships and their own home, KeyRing Living Support Networks helps adults with learning disabilities live independently, and also share skills and talents with each other and their communities. The inventive charity was founded in 1990 by the late Carl Poll. Local volunteers carry out frontline work as “good neighbours”, while the 161 staff form the next layer of support, doing jobs that take more time. Based in London, KeyRing supports more than 750 people in 90 networks across England and Wales. Employees believe they can make a valuable contribution to its success (88% positive, sixth among small NFPs) and say it has a strong social conscience (also 88%).
