Founded in the 19th century as Kenyon Produce, KP Snacks has become one of the largest snack makers in the UK, with seven manufacturing sites around the country and a headquarters in Slough.
With an ambition to ensure it develops its culture to better represent its colleagues, communities, and consumers, as well as foster a culture where everyone feels they belong, KP Snacks has partnered up with cultural change business, Utopia, to build awareness and educate its leaders on Inclusive Culture, Inclusive Leadership, Inclusive Recruitment and Equitable Progression. Having updated and relaunched its Values and Behaviours (V&B) framework to ensure its culture evolves to become more inclusive, the organisation has also introduced a Values and Behaviours shadow Steerco to ensure underrepresented groups feel heard.
The new, award-winning Values and Behaviours programme was developed with the input of KP Snacks’ colleagues from across the company, creating a great culture and positive working environment for all. There are over 110 V&B champions around the business, who work hard to embed each of the values and behaviours into every part of the business, at every site, every day.
Passionate about giving back to the environment, the company has partnered with Terracycle to recycle over 9.5 million snack packs – some of which were transformed into objects such as ping pong tables, birdfeeders and picnic tables – and donated to two local community charities. The business also has an ongoing programme to reduce the amount of packaging in its products.
