Despite the challenges of 2020, which disrupted its fundraising plans and yearly visit to the children's home it supports in Tanzania, healthcare economy specialist, Liaison Group was still able to raise more than £14,000 for its own dedicated children's charity through activities including a virtual disco, a new year-long Lotto, homemade card sales, raffles and a bake-off.

As a partner to the NHS, the organisation has also developed key services to support it during the pandemic, setting up vaccination banks and creating new technologies.

Over the last 30 years Liaison Group has been delivering savings and solutions for the NHS by tackling inefficiencies, streamlining processes and new ways of working through its intelligence gathering, its specialists and technology.

The group's 275 employees work across its three business: Liaison Financial, Liaison Workforce, and Liaison Care.

The privately owned enterprise is based in Redditch with offices in Derby, Worcester and London and recruits across the UK, providing clients with regional experts who understand the areas.

The organisation's Care, Honesty, Inspire and Guide values reflect not only how it treats clients. Twice weekly emails from chief executive, Andrew Armitage, often include a personal video updating employees on the business and encouraging them to join in with wellbeing initiatives and the firm has been open about plans to replace offices with regional hubs post pandemic. It has also introduced a homeworker allowance of £26 a month to help staff with extra costs of working from home.

Quote from the top...
“2020 was a difficult year for everyone in a multitude of ways, and whilst we were fortunate in our position of not needing to furlough any staff, a number of job roles altered or needed to be completed differently in response to the pandemic. Using the Best Companies b-Heard survey ensured we gave all staff a voice to let us know what we were doing well as a company, and what still needs improving since business operations have changed. We are over the moon to have been recognised as an Outstanding Place to Work, and view it as a real achievement following the challenges of the past twelve months. With the support of the senior management team, we have now pledged to continue building on our practices to ensure Liaison Group continues as a top place to work in the UK going forward.”

Corinne Spillane, Head of HR Function - Liaison Group
