Life Leisure operate 13 leisure centres in Stockport and Barrow, providing gyms, swimming pools, and sports halls to the community. The organisation is keen to help employees progress, as their career develops and has therefore just created an annual 'Life Leisure Academy'. The purpose of this is to encourage internal staff development to enable them to become managers of the future. This scheme involves all departments in leading technical and leadership training for the trainees, with trainers setting personal development plans for all attendees. Life Leisure understand how fundamental their employees have been towards the success they have seen over the years. The charity hold an annual awards evening for staff, celebrating team and centre achievements from the last 12 months. Individuals and teams are recognised for their contributions to the overall success of the business as well as living Life Leisure's company culture and behaviours, impacting on the lives of their customers and other colleagues.
