Lintbells's aim is to create healthy and happy pets, but it looks after its staff's health and happiness, too. This year, it introduced Lintbells Energy, a wellbeing strategy that covers physical, social, mental, emotional and financial wellbeing.

A variety of services are on offer, including sessions with a life-and-mindset coach and resilience training, which has received positive feedback from staff. An employee assistance programme provides support in a range of areas, from quitting smoking to exercise routines.

To keep staff up to date with what's going on in the company, it has launched the online Lintbells information centre, which shares organisational strategy, information and plans in real time. It also provides clarity on what is happening in different departments, as well as sharing news from across the organisation.

Lintbells was launched after John Davies joined up with a friend, John Howie, to create a product that would help Davies's chocolate Labrador, Charlie, with his joint problems. No available product worked, so the pair came up with YuMove, a joint supplement for dogs.

The company began producing supplements to treat other ailments, such as digestive and anxiety problems. It has expanded into nutritional supplements for cats, horses and even humans. Its products are mostly manufactured in the UK and are sold in more than 15 countries. Lintbells has a team in America and two million customers worldwide.

It is based in the countryside near Hitchin, Hertfordshire. Its contemporary, barn-style offices are in a lovely rural spot, surrounded by fields.
