In 2012, with a two-week-old baby and £1,000 in the bank, Andrew Dobbie founded MadeBrave in Glasgow. It is now a global strategic brand agency with clients such as Nestle, KPMG, Diageo, Edrington, Kandou and First Group.

MadeBrave is known for bringing to life its team-sourced brand values (This World Belongs to the Brave, Amigos Without Egos, To Infinity and Beyond) through creative projects such as murals, films and animations, then demonstrating these values by collaborating with the creative community.

The small company has an internal DEI action group that facilitates change on diversity, equity and inclusion through feedback on policies and initiatives, development of learning resources and events that encourage reflective discussion and open dialogue.

It has also launched a sustainability group that aims to foster a more environmentally conscious workplace.Team members can enjoy benefits such as enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave, Perkbox, team awaydays and a cycle-to-work scheme. Dogs are welcome.

A flexible framework gives staff the freedom to work wherever is best for them, so the MadeBrave studio is a destination for the brand rather than a location where their presence is required. At the start of the pandemic last year, the company launched a LinkedIn group to support the creative industry. It also helped relaunch an online community to complement this group, offering one-to-one support and a jobs board.
