There are no sour grapes at Naked Wines which offers new employees three months' salary to leave at the end of their first month if they aren't happy.

Naked Wines gives the world's independent winemakers the backing they need to make wine for its customers, called Angels. Launched in 2008 by 12 friends with a dream of changing the wine industry for the better, it brings great wine at fair prices to over 800,000 angels worldwide. In the UK a growing army of 300,000 customers now tuck the £25 they would normally spend on wine each month into their own wine-piggy bank at Naked to spend whenever they want. The company uses the money to back hundreds of winemakers in 65 places around the world, to the tune of £4m every month.

Norwich-based Naked Wines regularly asks employees for their input and involvement to help make decisions about the direction of travel and a number of staff-led working groups get together to discuss hot topics and hold the leadership team to account. People can drop ideas into the 'Koi Pond' and these are discussed monthly during creative sessions.

Naked Wines offers everyone an annual £300 Personal Pathway budget to spend on developing their work or non-work related skills. Last year employees used the money on chocolatier classes, languages lessons, personal fitness and creative writing lessons among other things.

Staff are a social bunch and to boost team spirit the leadership team performed a pantomime for the virtual Christmas party.
