Nippon Electric Glass (NEG) is a global manufacturer of speciality glass founded more than half a century ago, and over the years has consistently focused on developing and improving its glassmaking technology and introducing new products.
In addition to the production facilities in Japan that constitute its core base, NEG established plants overseas to meet global demand, including the acquisition of Electric Glass Fiber in the UK, Netherlands and US. NEG’s philosophy is a quest for sustainable growth focusing on 'People, Planet, Profit'. The way they see it, creative manufacturing is achieved through state-of-the-art technological development, the highest quality standards, efficient production, and a steady supply of products, all underpinned by a fundamental dedication to environmental sustainability.
NEG's UK site is the country's largest manufacture of specialist glass fibre for use in a wide range of industries, located in Wigan, with 250 employees.
Servicing the automotive and renewable energy markets, the products are at the very heart of Europe’s off-shore and on-shore Wind Energy initiatives, and critical to the electrification of vehicles to reduce carbon emissions.
At the centre of the company’s foundations is its people. They live and breathe the company values and its ‘One Team’ culture, creating a positive, inclusive and exciting working environment for all of its teammates.
