OneFile's story began 20 years ago when husband and wife duo Chris and Susanna started a business from their Manchester home. Between them they identified huge inefficiencies in the vocational training sector and decided to work together to build a solution. From this, they launched the first pilot e-portfolio designed for training and assessment.

The company now employs a family of over 70 like-minded, hard-working people and is a leader in the educational software sector.

Demonstrating its values of integrity, compassion, creativity and respect, all employees moved to remote working a week before the official lockdown.

Increased communication, including regular calls and a new weekly update email from CEO Susanna, provided employees with added reassurance.

Senior leaders delivered home office equipment to all local employees and staff were able to request software to help them work remotely together.

Deliveries of thank you boxes, a virtual Christmas party and creative events including painting and pottery helped maintain the family spirit.

The company, which embraces a holistic approach to management, is moving to hybrid working, providing employees with combination of face-to-face engagement and flexible working
