The numbers are impressive at PHASTAR and numbers are what matter to the business. It has grown from one office in London to four more in the UK and eight overseas. Staff have more than 10 years' field experience on average.

PHASTAR works with biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device companies to provide statistical consulting, analysis and reporting, data management and data science services. It is managed and run by expert statisticians, programmers and data managers.

All staff are trained in the PHASTAR Discipline, a rigorous approach to data analysis that underpins its international reputation for outstanding quality.

Kevin Kane, the company's founder and CEO, started his career in the pharmaceutical industry in 1990. He set up PHASTAR in 2007 and five years later it moved to bigger premises in Chiswick. It now operates in the United States, Japan, Australia, Germany and Kenya, and is looking for more opportunities overseas.

PHASTAR has a paperless office policy under which files are digital wherever possible. Last year digital signature was introduced for internal forms to reduce the need to print out documents. Offices have energy-saving lights and sensors to limit unnecessary usage, and recycling is the norm.
