RMP provides digital and face-to-face marketing solutions to engage students with employers, inspiring them to undertake apprenticeships, internships, placements or insight schemes. When their co-founders were at university they undertook placement years. Whilst on their placements, they realised that if they'd had access to more information about the roles, from students who had completed them before, they might have made slightly different decisions about their work experience. When they got back to university, they started www.RateMyPlacement.co.uk for students to write reviews about their placement years, so that other students applying would be able to make a more informed decision. From then they have grown to a four-product business, with all of these working to market work experience opportunities to undergraduates, school and college leavers. Their core values (achieve, collaborate, innovate, passion, enhance) are at the heart of the organisation. In 2017, they conducted an exercise whereby they collaborated with the team to create a new set of values, so that all employees had a sense of ownership over their values. They have their values displayed in huge bright bubbles on their walls to ensure their team see them every day. Not only that but all awards are based on value-based performance, as are all performance reviews. Employees get a score based on performance in the role and a score against each value.These scores are then averaged to give them an overall score, which then informs the salary review process. This places equal importance on both performance and value-led behaviours, to ensure that reward and recognition is truly deserved and not given solely on a job well done. It's given based upon how their employees do their job as well.
