For the second successive year, builders' merchant Selco won a Superbrands gold award in 2020. The award made the brand analysis and review company is based on quality, reliability, and distinction.

New initiatives at Selco impressed the judges, including its continuing expansion of services and its branch network, its response to keeping customers and staff safe during the pandemic, and a new long-term sustainability strategy, including the creation of the first Selco Forest. The company has bought two forests in Scotland and Wales and plans to plant trees to offset the carbon emissions created by deliveries.

Selco started as a family business in 1985 and is now a nationwide brand within the Grafton Group, with more than 70 builders' merchant warehouses for trade customers across England and Wales. Each branch stocks more than 15,000 projects.

Online and in branches, the chain offers a variety of services, including next-day free delivery, sheet-cutting, brick-matching, paint mixing, project lists, and account management.
