"People not numbers" is one of the key values at Spica Technologies, a company that helps others to run workplaces better.

It provides workplace-experience management with its cloud-based platform GemEx Engine and its mobile app, Luna. The technology benefits building owners and facilities managers, as well as enhancing employees' wellbeing.

GemEx Engine is an enterprise-grade workplace-experience platform that connects people, places and data. Clients’ needs for their workplace, including compliance, occupancy, workplace management and occupant experience, are addressed by it. It allows companies to optimise workspace and monitor the environment. It also has a smart function to make office cleaning more efficient and a legionella risk-management tool to ensure water safety, among other features.

The Luna app supports employees in the workplace by connecting them to self-service tools so that they can book meeting rooms or parking spaces, for instance. It also enables flexible working by allowing them to choose a workspace.

Spica's team of experienced and talented developers, user-experience consultants and managed service specialists are on a mission to improve the workplace experience for organisations worldwide.

As well as helping other businesses to run better and look after staff, Spica takes care of its own. Gemma Cottrell, head of human resources, says the company provides its employees with "the support, the tools and the vision to actively seek ways to understand their individual needs, support their wellbeing and provide them with a positive employee experience in all aspects of their role and within the workplace".
