Sounds created by Spitfire Audio are heard in Hollywood film scores and the recordings of Radiohead and U2. It has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the business, including Academy Award-winning film score composer Hans Zimmer, who won an Oscar for The Lion King, American composer Eric Whitacre and Icelandic multi-instrumentalist and producer Ólafur Arnalds. The company also works with orchestras, such as the London Contemporary and BBC Symphony Orchestras.

Spitfire Audio, a producer of musical "virtual instruments", was founded in 2007 by Christian Henson, a film and television soundtrack composer who won a World Soundtrack Award Soundtrack Composer of the Year in 2006, and fellow composer Paul Thomson. In 2012, Thomson won the Royal Television Society Craft and Design Award for Music Original Title for the theme music for the cult BBC series The Fades.

Spitfire Audio works with the world’s best composers, producers, engineers and studios to create detailed, sophisticated and realistic recordings of instruments. Its virtual instruments and sample libraries enable clients to perform and compose using its Digital Audio Workstation, offering them thousands of sounds at their fingertips. It has recorded and released more than 100 sample libraries.

The thriving international music technology enterprise has a uniquely experienced and diverse workforce, focused on a shared mission: to inspire a generation of composers. Spitfire Audio's composer team remains at the centre of the business, drawing on their own experience as obsessive music-makers to explore the needs and wants of fellow composers.
