The Chelmsford Learning Partnership is a multi-academy trust for schools that consists of 8 academies.
Directly funded by the Department for Education to provide education for children from ages 4-19, its schools serve their local communities by providing school places at the primary, secondary, and post 16 phases.
Formally known as The Boswells Academy Trust, the organisation changed its name in 2017 to reflect the growth of the trust beyond one school. The schools in The Chelmsford Learning Partnership are: Barnes Farm Infant School, Barnes Farm Junior School, Perryfield Infant School, Roding Valley High School, The Beaulieu Park School, The Boswells School, The Tyrells Primary School, and Lakelands Primary School.
The trust’s vision for its schools is simple. It believes that, as a collective of schools, they are stronger together and, that by working together, they can provide an outstanding education for every child in its family of schools.
The Chelmsford Learning Partnership also believe that it is important for schools in the trust to keep their individual identity and that all schools operate with their own autonomous Headteachers, leadership teams, staff, and Local Governing Bodies; each with their own ethos that makes every school in the trust unique.
To support this, the organisation have a ‘Vision, Ethos and Values’ document created by stakeholders that sets out the Trust’s purpose. This is further supported by the Trust’s 5 Year Strategy Document which outlines the strategic approach to the five key areas: Growth, Governance, Resource, People, and Schools.

The organisation has adopted the DfE Wellbeing Charter to ensure best practice across all schools. All staff have access to the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) which is intended to help employees deal with personal problems that may impact their health and wellbeing. Employees are also provided with over 4000 discounts to support their mental health.
The experience I gain from this job is valuable for my future
Employees can develop their skills by participating in the professional development opportunities offered by the Trust. Teachers are encouraged to participate in National Professional Qualifications relevant to their role. Further training is facilitated through the School Partnership Programme, which trains employees to complete peer reviews and improvement workshops for other schools within the Trust.
This organisation is keen to help people from disadvantaged backgrounds
As a Trust consisting of 8 schools, each school is encouraged to support a number of local charities and host events throughout the year to raise money for these charities. The Chelmsford Learning Partnership has also received additional funding from the government to support it in its push to make its schools more energy efficient.
