Family-run UK Flooring puts family values at the forefront of decision-making. The founder, Jason Ashby, and his son Jason have worked hard to ensure the business offers a great working environment for their fast-growing team of more than 180 people.

The company is also determined to be a positive force in the communities around its headquarters in Hinckley, in the East Midlands, and its new site in Coventry, West Midlands, opened in autumn 2020, by supporting local causes as well as creating employment. Although UK Flooring was set up in 2005, with a £299 investment in a website and just £500 cash, senior leaders can draw on 25 years of experience in the industry.

Significant investments in people in 2020 have added key skills and personnel to the company's board and senior management team and UK Flooring also continues to invest in AI tools to understand the needs of its customer base. The business sells a range of more than 250 products including wood and laminate flooring to retail and trade customers all over the country.

During the pandemic, the company's priorities were to keep its people safe – and to keep them in employment. Its People Team kept busy keeping a close eye on employees in case they needed extra support in a challenging year. In April, the business says thank you to staff for their dedication during the financial year with a free pizza.
