Big data, rendered via Vianet's Internet of Things platform, lies at the heart of the business, which is based in Stockton-on-Tees. More than 250,000 devices are connected to the platform. The company's goal is to deliver world-class strategic insight and build partnerships with leading providers.

Vianet is proud to promote STEM through its internship programme and relationships with universities, which has generated a great deal of interest from young women looking to join the field.

Encouraging the development of staff, each employee is provided a variety of learning opportunities through the firm's robust workforce education programme, as well as its in-house management development programme (MDP) for aspiring leaders. In 2021, the organisation also launched its 'Good to Great' programme for previous MDP delegates to revisit some of the methodologies from the MDP and to build on these further, exploring best practice and aligning their learning pathways to support their continued development.

Doing its bit for the environment, Vianet encourages the reduction of plastic waste by providing all employees with a Vianet-branded reusable stainless steel water bottle, and has recently pulled together a team of volunteers from the business to focus on sustainability and company-wide initiatives.
