Virgin Wines source high-quality, handcrafted wines from around the world and sell these direct to consumers online. Part of the wider Virgin Group owned by Richard Branson, the company was established in 2000. In 2005, they were bought by Direct Wines but continue to work closely with the Virgin Group. Since they started, Virgin Wines have sold more than 80 million bottles and were named Online Drinks Retailer of the Year in 2017. Speaking about the award, Chief Executive Officer Jay Wright said: “I'm incredibly proud that we won the biggest accolade in the drinks trade with the Online Drinks Retailer of the Year gong. It's definitely deserved recognition for the team, they work tirelessly to ensure that we're always out in front when it comes to being the best place to buy wine in the UK.” The head office of Virgin Wines is in Norwich.
