IT services company Wanstor likes to grow its own talent. Staff are encouraged to work towards the next step in their career. Many team members began working at the organisation on a placement year while at university and have gone on to join the management team.

The company, whose clients include Dogs Trust, Frankie and Benny's and the Salvation Army, enables organisations to expand by transforming how they work. It helps them to become more productive, profitable and agile, using its best-in class technologies and expert teams.

Wanstor was launched in 2002 by Peter Lukes, who wanted to create an alternative to the traditional break-fix IT suppliers on the market. Its services range from infrastructure and networking, to digital and development. Wanstor's support service includes a 24-hour help desk, network monitoring and onsite support.

It has 220 employees based in its London Bridge head office and hub in Twickenham. Some staff work remotely to support customers across the country.

Work with not-for-profit organisations includes the Fostering Network, the UK's leading fostering charity. Wanstor transformed the organisation's IT systems to optimise the way the charity operated, raised funds and delivered its services.

For staff, there is a social team that is made up of employees from across the company. It means colleagues come up with their own ideas for events and everyone gets the chance to join in — including those who work remotely.
