The Best Companies initiative gives every organisation using the b-Heard survey an option to donate to a charitable cause that’s close to their hearts. Organisations pledge a chosen amount of money to their selected charity for every survey completed, so the more employees take part, the more money is pledged.
In just over eight years, the initiative has seen 1,278 organisations commit money to more than 1,500 different charities; including Children in Need, MacMillan Cancer Support, Cancer Research UK and Mind.
Over the past 20 years, our research has identified the key factors that are most important for employee engagement in the workplace. The data shows that Giving Something Back, one of the eight factors of the Best Companies Methodology, is strongly correlated with overall employee engagement levels, suggesting that employees who work for an organisation with CSR initiatives in place are likely to be more engaged.
Jonathan Austin, Founder & CEO said: “It’s fantastic for the company to be able to celebrate reaching such a huge fundraising milestone. We’re thrilled that our surveys have played a part in helping to raise money for more than 1,500 charities so they can continue their vital work.”
Our research shows that companies with high workplace engagement levels have employees who feel more motivated and productive because people take pride in what they are doing and have faith in those around them. This leads to better working relationships, greater collaboration and ultimately a more successful organisation.
An opportunity to give back to charity through their workplace can positively influence an employee’s engagement levels, and the fundraising initiative has been incredibly successful, so I’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our clients that have pledged funds over the years. The huge amount of money raised makes a real difference to every single chosen charity.”
