The company was founded in 2005 by founder and CEO Rich Wagner, inspired by his poor experiences with UK high street banks after he arrived from the US to take up a job in London. The company initially focused on providing a simple prepaid card for consumers and developed it to offer credit services and banking services for small businesses.
The company became a bank in 2021 and today offers current accounts, overdrafts, and credit cards aimed at micro businesses and consumers. It has a strong culture with many longstanding employees and a focus on the company’s values and its purpose of enabling a more open and successful financial future.
