According to recent statistics, nearly 1,000 families across Nottinghamshire were made homeless or threatened with eviction during the first lockdown. To do their bit staff at digital marketing agency, Hallam, donated winter coats, warm jumpers, shoes and food to Emmanuel House, a local charity which supports the most vulnerable, homeless and isolated.

Kindness and doing the right thing are two of the core values at the people-centred firm which was found by Susan Hallam in 1999, just as the concept of search engine optimisation was taking off and the full potential of the internet was being realised. Since then, the multi award-winning company has been helping clients navigate the evolving world of digital marketing and has grown along with it to become one of the UK's leading strategic digital marketing agencies and a leading force on the European marketing scene.

The Nottingham-based company provides strategic thinking, creativity and technical expertise to brands, including Speedo, United Nations, Raleigh Bikes, Garden4Less and Virtual Runner, staffed by more than 50 people. Last year the founder handed over the running of the company to chief executive, Julio Taylor, and managing director, Jake Third.

Hallam's Thrive programme wraps up learning, innovation and volunteering opportunities to help employees flourish and realise their full potential in an environment that embraces flexible working and celebrates success and outstanding contribution. Hallam's culture is based on honesty, ownership, and balancing purpose with profit and during the pandemic directors took an “all in it together” reduction in pay.
