Family, Food and Fun is the what RH Amar, one of the UK's leading fine food importers, is all about.
In 1945 Raoul Amar left his family's trading company and borrowed £2,000 to set up as a distributor of French food. The High Wycombe-based company remains in family ownership, with Raoul's grandson, Rob, heading the business as managing director, supported by a 70-strong team.
Today RH Amar represents a wide range of international and UK brands across all grocery channels, including major retail, online, independents, wholesale, cash & carry and manufacturing. They include household names such as Ella's Kitchen, Del Monte, Crespo, Mutti, Kikkoman and Cafédirect as well as its own Cooks&Co, Mary Berry's and the Original Waffle Co. brands.

Reflecting its approach to corporate social responsibility, the firm supports Farm Africa, a charity that works with farmers and forest communities in eastern Africa, providing training to help them grow more food, look after their livestock and make a living using their natural resources sustainably. In 2020 with the environment in mind, the company switched its plastic bubble wrap and packing tape to honeycomb wrap and paper-based packing tape.
