CF10 Retail is a wholly owned subsidiary of co-educational further education college Cardiff and Vale College (CAVC), known in Welsh as Coleg Caerdydd a'r Fro.
Formed in 2011 by the merger of Barry College and Coleg Glan Hafren, CAVC is now one of the largest colleges in Wales and CF10 delivers sector-leading retail and catering operations across its estate and campuses.
New to the Best Companies lists, CF10 comprises retail units – including coffee shops, convenience stores and restaurant chains – and runs a venue-hire operation that offers a variety of spaces from across the CAVC estate for use by external clients.
CAVC has 30,000 learners and 1,000 staff. Its £45m main campus in Dumballs Road, Cardiff, caters for 4,000 students. Facilities comprise 130 teaching rooms, film and dance studios, a theatre, a hair salon, a spa and – on the top floor – a public bar and restaurant. The college also took control of the Cardiff International Sports Stadium in 2015 on a peppercorn rent to Cardiff Council.
CF10, established in 2015, regularly employs college students and sells products such as freshly baked bakery goods produced daily by CAVC hospitality and catering learners.
