‘Creating brighter futures' is learning provider LifeSkills Solutions Limited's mission. This ethos extends to its treatment of staff, who are all given health and wellbeing resilience training alongside 24 hour access to a personal counselling service. The company has also been promoting healthy eating and recommending staff to keep fit through exercises.
Ensuring equality and inclusion across the board, LifeSkills Solutions work closely with agencies to recruit from a diverse background and provide all staff with E&D training internally and externally with various organisations.
Started in Bethnal Green in 2002, the business provides vocational courses to young adults aged between 16 and 19. One of its former 20,000 students is now manager at one of its centres.
The business has training centres in Basildon, Lowestoft and Rotherham, as well as a sister centre in Leeds. Whilst lessons are typically delivered in person, the Covid-19 pandemic moved all teaching online.
LifeSkills continues to bring staff together both virtually through online zoom quizzes, as well as bi-monthly ‘staff-bonding’ events that are funded through each centre's social allowance. Each year, the company throws a summer party and each centre is provided with the funds to arrange their very own staff Christmas party.
In 2021,a company-wide pay rise gave staff a huge morale boost, and a new gift card scheme was LifeSkills's way of saying thank you. Bonuses are also given to employee of the month and year, as well as for outstanding contributions.
