CHP

The wellbeing group selected the menopause as an important subject to tackle last year. Menopause-awareness workshops were run. Fifty women attended across a range of ages. Men were given a separate session and 12 turned up because they wanted to learn about managing female team members going through it or how to support partners.
As part of CHP's diversity and inclusion policies, a reverse-mentoring scheme, where employees mentor a senior manager to share experiences and knowledge and remove barriers, was introduced. Employees' personal stories of their perspective on diversity and inclusion are shared on video. These include reflections on antisemitism, anxiety, autism, LGBTQ+ experiences and racial discrimination.
At Christmas, the association collected cash for the Trussell Trust, which runs food banks, and donated more than £200 to Save the Children. It has also introduced volunteering days. This year staff have made 38 bikes for three charities and they are creating a communal garden at a sheltered housing scheme.

This plan, along with a dedicated 1-2-1 mentor, provides them with the right tools and opportunities to progress. Every staff member can attend ‘Wednesday Workshops’, covering everything from new skills to looking after their mental health.
A culture where a healthy work/life balance is strongly promoted is in place at Leap29, and employees are encouraged to take advantage of flexitime, early finishes on Fridays, additional holidays, and regular breaks. Routine check-in calls with managers and the HR team take place to ensure no-one is feeling overloaded.
All managers are given an experienced mentor within the business to help and offer guidance. Along with this internal support network, managers and future managers are given access to a Leadership training program. Blackhawk Network

Blackhawk offers an onsite gym and free fitness classes. Financial wellbeing talks are also available. The company's 'Green Hero' programme encourages staff to keep active, as well as help to save the planet, by rewarding those who travel to work via a green method, including walking, cycling and public transport.
Staff voted for the charities the company should support and Rape Crisis UK and Cancer Research UK won out. Blackhawk also offers customers the chance to help the Teenage Cancer Trust and Alzheimer's Society through making donations.
A "time for me" initiative allows people to take two hours a week to do whatever they want. The company has introduced an etiquette that governs meetings so that the number of non-effective ones has been cut. No Zoom Fridays have also reduced the amount of video calls, which were causing fatigue among staff.

MyBuilder.com

MyBuilder's cycle-to-work scheme includes showers, a bike maintenance station and ample space for cycles. Subsidised lunch is provided for those in the office. The kitchen features a well-stocked drinks fridge and a barista-grade coffee machine. The London office has a gym and there are ping-pong tables, plus foosball and dartboards for moments of downtime.
Through the company's training and development programme, staff benefit from a yearly allowance of up to £1,000 to boost their professional development. They are also given up to five days off to attend training, conferences and online courses.
MyBuilder became a hybrid workplace last year. Most staff chose to work remotely or spend two days in the office, with a smaller number working full time on site. One of the things that makes MyBuilder a great place to work is the relationships people have formed. To maintain that, monthly team gatherings are encouraged.

FX Digital

An employee-run mental health and physical wellbeing group meets fortnightly to discuss and implement changes across the business, such as its 'Wellbeing Week' initiative held in January. It also provides Vitality Health Insurance for employees to encourage better physical and mental health, as well as providing mental health coaching once a month.
Each week employees are given half a day to focus on their personal growth, whether it be participating in training to further skills for a work-related project, or for their own interests outside of the business. Some of the team used this time to work on an AI recycling app, unrelated to their usual projects.
As well as sponsoring a local children's football club and providing teams with kits, employees also planned a workshop for a local primary school during their STEM week, aiming to inspire more women into the tech sector. In 2021 staff chose to support MIND Mental Healthy Charity by donating money to the cause.

Moonpig

Staff have free access to 12 video therapy sessions per year, along with other mental health tools. Initiatives to support the health of employees include a £100 wellbeing allowance to spend on a subscription, such as gym membership — or even Netflix — along with virtual social events, financial wellbeing workshops and resilience training.
Various channels — digital as well as in-person — are used to ensure staff understand Moonpig's vision and strategy, and feel an integral part of what the company is trying to achieve. The annual Strategy Day brings the company's strategic vision to life with activities and keynote speakers from across the business.
Employee-led groups include the LGBTQ+ committee, gender balance committee and the 'Moonpig Against Racism' committee. Staff have also volunteered their skills to help the diversity-in-tech social enterprises, Stemettes and Cajigo, which support young women and non-binary people in tech careers.

ClickThrough Marketing

Following the success of an additional ‘wellbeing day’ gifted to all employees last year in lieu of activities that would normally be held in the office, the company is repeating the initiative. This sees all employees get an extra days’ leave to use as they wish – everything from nail appointments to long walks.
Working with volunteering provider, OnHand, all employees can spend time volunteering – from planting trees to helping vulnerable people. A commitment to buying locally to support its community sees ClickThrough-Marketing source products from nearby suppliers, including Fair Trade coffee and plants for the office.
All people managers attend an internal 'Leading the Way' programme that consists of four key modules covering ‘An introduction to Leadership’, ‘Leader as a Coach’, ‘Leading Performance’, and ‘Leading the Team’. In addition, all managers are offered one-to-one personal training and support whenever needed in their roles.

Millennium Support

Two of the most popular support groups on the wellness portal of the MyMillennium app are Millie Let's Get Healthy and Millie Mind Matters. The company also has an employee assistance programme and provides other wellbeing initiatives, such as a cycle-to-work scheme and yoga sessions.
Managers discuss results of surveys with their teams. The combination of these listening groups and the survey results enables them to create an action plan that is specific to their teams. It has led to managers thinking differently about how and when they hold team meetings, how they communicate and about team-building events.
Talent programmes are populated through bi-annual reviews. Everyone has a regular one-to-one "developing talent" discussion. Those who are identified as having potential for more senior roles are put forward for fast-track talent programmes that consist of six workshops, coaching and a business project. The learning content is available to all staff.
