Hard work pays off for staff and their good causes at Quanta Consultancy Services. At the recruitment company, employees earn points while doing their job.

The points are converted into pounds that are donated to the organisation's chosen charities. Points are earned by arranging interviews, making calls to clients, or placing candidates with multinational companies, and the more effective staff are the more points they earn.

Last year, Quanta raised £24,000 for four organisations: the homeless charity DENS, special education school - Thomley, the Swan Youth Project, and the Pepper Foundation, which raises funds for hospice-at-home nursing care in Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.

The company specialises in recruiting worldwide for the life science, renewable energy, information and communications technology, and data centre industries.

It began with a small team in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, and now has over 85 employees. New offices have opened in Ireland, America, and the Netherlands.

Reflecting its “one-team” ethos and focus on communication, directors request regular feedback and make sure all staff have their voices heard. Employees are rewarded for meeting four monthly targets.

The targets are set by them and their manager. Rewards range from an early finish or £25, to lunch with one of the directors.

Quanta is committed to staff development, and everyone spends 120 hours a year on training. The company is proud to have won a Princess Royal Training Award.
