Stori is a not-for-profit housing association that has provided specialist housing and trauma-informed support across Wales since 1989. The organisation assists families, children, individuals experiencing mental ill health and survivors of domestic abuse. By utilising frontline experience, they also deliver high-quality, trauma-informed training to professionals, partner organisations and local communities, focusing on empowering individuals to build independence and achieve fulfilling lives.
Operationally, the organisation provides structured support through floating, employability, housing and educational services. Internal workforce alignment is maintained by sharing the 5 year strategic plan and annual operational plan via the staff portal. The organisation facilitates continuous feedback through monthly All Staff conferences and dedicated engagement days, ensuring that all teams remain informed of strategic goals and risk registers.
Employee development and retention are supported through Mandatory and Core training schemes alongside professional ILM qualifications for management. Workforce wellbeing is prioritised through trained mental health first aiders, a free Employee Assistance Programme with counselling services and an online GP service. Frontline staff also engage in community initiatives, including creating microwavable Christmas dinner hampers for clients in temporary housing and organising charitable walks.
