Two weeks after finishing university in 1998, three entrepreneurial friends founded Uniform Group; a family of independent, creative businesses that help other organisations to grow their brands and better prepare for the future.
The Uniform Group family consists of over 50 employees across two brands; Somewhere, a creative agency for property and place that works with award-winning architects and progressive property developers, and Continuous, a brand consultancy which helps businesses to adapt their brand strategy, identity, communication, and campaigns to create an impact in the market.
Both Somewhere and Continuous work together and independently, and have worked with many high-profile clients, including Zaha Hadid Architects, Canary Wharf Group, Primark, and Innocent.
Uniform Group believe in using the power of business as a force for good, and delivering impact through people, planet, and profit, and is committed to building a responsible, sustainable, and impactful business.
In-house, the Uniform Group aims to help its teams to perform to the best of their ability and to support their personal growth through a number of schemes. It has created a performance management framework that focuses on three competency areas: discipline expertise, commercial awareness, and self-management.
Using a Competencies Syllabus (a tool that curates learning and development resources), line managers at Uniform Group can develop progression plans, training, and support programmes for their teams based upon 1:1s and peer reviews. Training can be delivered through external providers, internal workshops and knowledge sharing, and coaching and mentoring.
The leader of this organisation runs this organisation based on sound moral principles
Uniform Group’s line managers are encouraged to ensure that their teams uphold the values of the organisation through 1:1s, 90-day reviews, and in developing progression plans to influence behaviour and support personal development. They also encourage teams to have fun and be fearless with the creativity of their work.
I believe I can make a valuable contribution to the success of this organisation
Uniform works with organisations that promote increased diversity and inclusivity within the creative industry, such as innovateHer, Agent Academy, Kerning The Gap and Creative Lives in Progress. Its Future Confident Foundation will focus on doing more to help young people from all backgrounds thrive in work and find opportunities.
I am happy with the pay and benefits I receive in this job
Several strategies have been employed to ensure that staff are receiving a fair deal, including a Gender Pay Gap report and a DBA salary and charge-out rates survey. This has meant that salaries are competitive within in the market and are benchmarked for each role.
