Two weeks after leaving university in 1998, three young entrepreneurs founded Uniform, a family of creative businesses that work together and independently.

The Liverpool-based company is made up of Somewhere, a creative agency for property and place that works across the world with award-winning architects and progressive property developers, and Continuous, a brand consultancy. The consultancy helps brands to find a clear direction and optimise and adapt their assets by testing continually and learning to ensure every customer experience is relevant, unique and memorable.

High-profile clients include Primark, Innocent, the Canary Wharf Group and Zaha Hadid architects.

Uniform believes in the power of business as a force for good, and is committed to delivering long-term impact through people, planet, and profit. Its core principles include "be fearless" in work creativity and ambition, "create together" to harness the power of collaboration within the team, with clients and with partners, and "challenge constructively", so that clients and staff are motivated to do better, be better and go further.

Another is "play everyday". Uniform encourages staff to "experiment, innovate and bring a sense of playfulness" to what they do. It wants them to "create work that makes people smile and enjoy the process".

Chief executive Nick Howe says: "It’s our responsibility as leaders to serve our teams. To lift them up, support them and create an environment where they can thrive. Their engagement in our mission and contribution is fundamental to our success. I believe this is evident in the way we run our business."
